PROCESS

Create a new synth at photosynth.net

STEP 1 - Download Synth and watch Photosynth output

STEP 2 - Put Pictures in Distort Folder

STEP 3 - Prepare for PMVS2

Run "launch_pmvs_(SOH)"

STEP 4 - Create Visibility File

STEP 5 - Download HD Synth Pictures

These are the files generated from running the PhotoSynth Toolkit 7 and can now be used to generate the geometry.

The .ply file is then dragged into MeshLab workspace

  1. You should give us a link to the original PhotoSynth here.

It looks like it only matched one set of aerial shots; the last ones in the screenshot.

PhotoSynth requires a LOT of redundancy, and can't do any guesswork. Also, Richard Hammond will be matched more than the opera house in another set of images.

You CAN eventually match these outlying images of the OH all together, but you need to start with a really unambiguous set of images so it can build up an initial idea of the geometry.
